Hello Tax Details

It is a mobile app to ease out the cumbersome ITR filing process and to keep track of the refund status or any other tax related information on fingertips.

Project Overview

The client came up with concept to leverage business opportunity of cumbersome ITR filing process wherein taxpayer has to pay for a professional consultancy and reaching them again and again to inquire about tax refund status.

At first instance we helped client in framing detailed business plan and application mockflow.

He was not having any information related to database access to verify the details submitted in app via government authorities e.g. Aadhar verification, PAN card verification, form 16 verification etc.

There were lot many parameters and mathematical calculations in place to calculate tax liability of assessees which keep changing almost every years with amendments done by government authorities.

Client did wanted to guide taxpayers on investment avenues so that they can plan their investment to optimize tax liability.

What We Did?

At first instance we helped client in framing detailed business plan and application mockflow which eventually became guiding doc to development team as well as progress measuring criteria to the client.

We did research around permissions available to access the database and set up auto verification process up to the extent it was permissible. The areas where it was not possible to automate due to limited permission access of database, we advised for manual processes.

We translated all the mathematical tax calculation into easy user interface where client has just to submit the required figure and outcome getting populated from the backend.

Keeping scope of change in tax laws, we made the application flexible at backend wherein admin can set the rules at backend and make it working correctly for the users.

We programmed the application in a way that it auto populate investment avenues to the taxpayers based on their tax filing details.

Results

It drastically changed the experience of app users for ITR filing process, as it allows app users to file ITR in two minutes only wherein they have to submit the details form their form 16 and it is all done.
The app also allows to outsource ITR filing process just by uploading form 16 within the app and pay a smaller amount of consultancy fee of $5 who even don’t want enter the figure in predefined fields either.
Within the launch of two years, the app has been recognised under top 20 Fintech startups in India.
